Lean Beef Meatloaf

I get asked a lot about meatloaf and I typically give out a recipe for turkey breast meatloaf, of which I have many various recipes. Sometimes, it depends on a taste that I am going for and sometimes it depends on what is in the pantry at the time. This is a very basic recipe for a lean beef meatloaf using lean ground beef.

Lean Beef Meatloaf Ingredients

1 lb 96% Lean Ground Beef
2 Egg Whites
1/4 cup Yellow Onion, diced
1/4 cup Oatmeal
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Basil
1 tbsp Parsley
8 oz Reduced Sodium Tomato Sauce

Lean Beef Meatloaf Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl while reserving half of the tomato sauce.
Place mixed ingredients into a square baking pan (8×8) greased with nonstick cooking spray.
Cook for 40 minutes.
Top with remaining sauce.
Cook for additional 10 minutes.

This recipe makes 4 large slices.

This lean beef meatloaf recipe is a great post-workout meal with a side of slow-digesting carbohydrate and green vegetables. You will want to add more carbs since there are not many oats in this recipe.
