As we get older and especially during cutting season, we want to watch our fat intake a little and even 90% lean ground beef tends to be a little too fatty for my tastes. Also, I spent my college days as a butcher in a supermarket and there was no exact science going on to ensure that the meat was actually 90% lean. Take my word for it there. I am not saying that all ground beef is this way, but I saw it firsthand.
Sometimes, we are looking for an alternative for a burger fetish or simply something new to add to our weekly menu. This tuna burger recipe takes an ingredient that we all probably consume a lot of and does something nice with it by making the tuna in a patty format.
Tuna Burger Ingredients
1/4 Green Pepper, chopped
1/4 Onion, chopped
2 tbls Panko Bread Crumbs
1 Can of Tuna, drained
Tuna Burger Directions
Mix up all of the ingredients and shape into 1 or 2 patties.
Grill patties 3-4 minutes per side.
You can enjoy the patties without a bun, but for that true burger feeling, you will want to have a bun of some sort, so I would suggest either eggplant slices or portabella caps.
